"Pete" is quite a character, more than all the horses I've ever been around in almost 50 years of being in horses. This horse is big enough for any man to ride but I've had many different junior students ride him over the years and compete. To be honest, he's not particularly talented at any one thing, but he's willing to do whatever you ask of him that day. He doesn't have a mean bone in his body. People always come up and say how cool his coloring is. He's a black Champagne with appy spots on his butt, and his papers say Buckskin, but that was before the Champagne color genetics were discovered. He's by Iron Spring Farms stallion "Consul" and his dam was a solid bay TB/Appy cross mare who was an "A" hunter in southern California. He's sound, clips, ties, cross-ties, is simple for the farrier to work on. After he gets to know you he will call to you or talk to you whenever he hears your voice. He has been a school horse for 10 years, but I don't have anyone riding him right now, so I can't afford to keep him. He's jumped up to 3'3" but is most comfortable at 2'6"-2'9". Most of his competition experience has been in Eventing at the Beginner Novice Level.
